About

Gabriel Azoulay discovered these recordings while living and practicing with Guruji in Mysore in 2005. When he moved to Scottsdale, AZ he would share the led primary series at his Thai Massage and Yoga center, where one of his students realized that this was the practice he has been looking for.

Having seen ashtanga taught in many ways throughout Arizona and the world, Gabriel shared his vision on sharing this material to all Ashtanga Yoga practitioner in order to discover the pace and love that Guruji infused into the practice and into his students.

These DVDs offer an uncanny insight into how Vamana Rishi’s insights into Patanjali’s Sutras become a daily practice that can free the mind and liberate the spirit.

It is important to note here that Vamana Rishi’s intention was to create an opportunity for working practitioners to be able to live within society and do their work, while surrendering and discovering their divine nature.

Sri K. Pattabhi Jois often would comment on this point, that the astanga practice was designed to integrate practitioners into modern life, not to send them off to live in seclusion on the tips of the Himalayas. “Practice, and all is coming,” he would often say.

These DVDs are the true expression of how this practice should be taken.

Much like a gourmet dish, that requires time and patience in learning how to create, so the ashtanga practice requires time and attention to unravel the subtleties that make it the accessible practice it is.

When done correctly this practice clears all pain and injuries and purifies the body allowing the luminous light within to shine.

“Practice and all is coming” – Guruji.

These DVDs are the true expression of what Practice is about.
